How much do you need to earn to buy a house in the Lockyer Valley?

The Chronicle published an article on Friday 9 February 2024 where it listed the median house price for various areas and how much the required minimum income would be needed to be able to afford that house price.

While they didn’t have all areas in the Lockyer Valley here is a list of the areas that they did have:

  • Gatton – median price $435,517 – Income $85,628 – increase in income from last year 29%;
  • Hatton Vale – median price $797,578 – Income $156,815 – increase in income from last year 34%;
  • Helidon – median price $446,053 – Income $87,700 – increase in income from last year 29%;
  • Laidley – median price $444,622 – Income $87,419 – increase in income from last year 37%;
  • Laidley Heights – median price $639,042 – Income $125,644 – increase in income from last year 35%;
  • Lowood – median price $466,112 – Income $91,644 – increase in income from last year 29%;
  • Plainland – median price $681,288 – Income $133,950 – increase in income from last year 36%;
  • Withcott – median price $703,651 – Income $138,347 – increase in income from last year 27%;

These figures should be used as a guide only and if you are interested in finding out your borrowing capacity you should speak to your bank or mortgage broker.
