Are Country people more generous?

Country business owners always want to help if they can.  When you operate a small business in a small town you can’t support everything.  There is only so much you can give and it doesn’t always go all the way around.

However, from my experience of organising charity events it seems that most local businesses are more than happy to help either by donating a raffle prize or putting in a team or sponsoring a hole.

It is the small family owned business that also seem to go above and beyond when trying to assist.

So just remember when you think about driving out of town or ordering online because you can get it cheaper, that when you buy from a local business, you help a neighbour pay their mortgage, you help their children get a team uniform, you help their employee’s daughter get piano lessons, you help them support their church or local charities, you help them put food on their table.  You are not supporting the big companies who probably don’t even know you exist.
