Realestate.com released an article on 18 September 2024 setting out when your house prices will double.  They say that the yardstick is that your house should double every 7 to 10 years.

Around the Lockyer Valley it set out the following:

  • Gatton – 17 years;
  • Laidley – 6 years;
  • Forest Hill – 5 years;
  • Adare – 12 years;
  • Placid Hills – 16 years;
  • Plainland – 10 years;
  • Hatton Vale – 9 years;
  • Summerholm – 9 years;
  • Withcott – 8 years;
  • Glenore Grove – 4 years;
  • Regency Downs – 4 years;
  • Lowood – 7 years.

That varied quite a bit across the region.  What does this mean?  Does it mean that some markets are at the top of their cycle and some markets are still heading up and some are heading down.

Will these figures be correct.  Economic experts are sometimes less reliable than meteorologists.
