It was always said that the Australian Dream was a house on a ¼ acre.
With developments now selling blocks that resemble backyards, you can now share sugar or eggs by leaning out of your kitchen window into your neighbours kitchen window.
But are there places where you can still get your ¼ acre?
As published by realestate.com on 28 August 2024 you can still keep the dream alive and it is affordable if you look just outside the capital cities.
And where better to look than the Lockyer Valley or Somerset Regional Council areas.
Some of God’s own country!
Still maintaining the hour to hour and a half communite to the Brisbane CBD you can still get properties at Forest Hill, Toogoolawah, Lockrose, Esk or Coominya ranging between 1012m2 to 20,000m2 for between $430,000 to $600,000.
That is probably less than half of what you would expect to pay for a house and land in Brisbane and you get the country lifestyle thrown in for free. How could anyone pass that up?
